The Turkish government has lost its focus on the countrys economic issues of late, instead becoming involved in political issues, according to Tuncay Ozilhan, the chief executive officer of the Anadolu Group.
Taking the worsening global conjuncture into consideration the economy must be put to the top of the governments agenda, Ozilhan said.
This global crisis is now beginning to be felt in Turkey, said Ozilhan, a former chairman of the Turkish Industrialists and Businessmens Association.
The government is a little late in taking the necessary measures and the easing fiscal discipline is making businessmen uncomfortable, he said.
Whats more, there are concerns of a further easing ahead of the upcoming local elections.
