Launch of Turkish satellite delayed

The new satellite will replace the first generation unit Turksat 1C satellite.

ANKARA - The launch of Turkey’s newest satellite, Turksat 3A, has been delayed for at least a week, officials announced Wednesday.

Turksat 3A was scheduled to be put into orbit on May 24, but the launch date has been put off until May 31, officials said, without giving a reason for the postponement.

The Turkish satellite will be launched from the Arianespace site in French Guiana.
