Speaking to reporters in Ankara, Erdogan said his government was not at odds with the Central Bank, which has called for a further tightening of fiscal policy after the government announced it would reduce its primary surplus target from 4.2 percent 3.5 percent of gross domestic product in order to increase spending.

“It is the sincere will of the government not to make concessions on fiscal discipline and this has been our policy in the last five and a half years and it will continue as such from now on,” Erdogan said.
