Accompanied by her Greek born husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, the queen will arrive in Ankara, where her first official function will be a visit to Anitkabir, the tomb of Mustafa kemal Ataturk, the founder father and first president of the Republic of Turkey.
Following this, Queen Elizabeth will be given an official welcome with full military honors by Turkish President Abdullah Gul at the Cankaya Presidential Palace.
Gul and his wife will then hold a meeting with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip after the ceremony, before an official state dinner.
Though invited both the leader of the main opposition Republican Peoples Party (CHP), Deniz Baykal, and the Chief of the Turkish General Staff, General Yasar Buyukanit, will not attend the dinner at the Cankaya Presidential Palace ON Wednesday, royal couple is scheduled to visit northwestern province of Bursa, while on Thursday, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip will visit Istanbul, where they will host a reception in honor of Turkish President Abdullah Gul and his wife on the Royal Navy aircraft carrier the HMS Illustrious.
On Friday, the last day of her visit to Turkey, the queen and her husband will return to Ankara to bid farewell to President Gul and his wife.
