Speaking on television station CNBC-e, Lorenzo Giorgianni, the IMFs desk chief for Turkey, said that the Turkish government needed to adhere to the goals of its revised economic program.
The IMF has not yet been told by the Turkish government intends to do after the expiry of its stand by agreement with the fund on May 9, he said.
The Turkish government was seriously studying all options, said Giorgianni.
These options could include either a precautionary stand-by deal with access to funding if required or a less stringent post-program monitoring deal with no access to loans.
