BATMAN - Three people have been killed and five others wounded when a mini bus in the south east of Turkey was ripped apart by a land mine early Friday.

The remotely detonated land mine, detonated by the terrorist group the PKK, was detonated on a rural road in the Sason district of the province of Batman.

According to officials, one of those killed was a school teacher, while at least two of those wounded in the blast were in a serious condition.
Batman governor Recep Kizilcik said that among those on board the mini bus were members of the state village guard.
