The groups, including the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the Turkish Confederation of Public Laborers Unions (Kamu-Sen), Turkish Confederation of Labor (Turk-Is), Turkish Confederation of Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), Moral Rights Workers Union (Hak-Is), Turkish Confederation of Employers Unions (TISK) and Turkish Agricultural Chambers Union (TZOB), represent a large cross section of Turkish society.
Following meetings on Tuesday, it was agreed that representatives of the groups would hold press conferences simultaneously in all 81 provinces of Turkey Wednesday morning.
According to Rifat Hisarciklioglu, the chairman of the TOBB, the statement to be read out at the press conferences will be a call for common sense and also proposed measures to ease the tension.
