On Monday, prosecutors announced they were conducting a probe into the Star, Taraf and Yeni Safak newspapers over their publishing details of the ongoing Ergenekon case.
The three papers had published some information and supposed details of the interrogations of suspects held in the case Ergenekon, which started eight months ago after hand grenades and other weapons were found in shanty house in Istanbul.
Authorities expanded the investigation based on alleged plans to incite chaos, including murdering Nobel Laurate Orhan Pamuk and prompting the armed forces to intervene to restore order and overthrow the ruling pro-Islamist Justice and Development Party government.
