The results of the latest Consumer Tendency Survey, released by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the central bank on Monday, showed a 4.9 percent drop in Turkish consumer confidence.
The survey, which covered the month of February, showed that the consumer confidence had dipped to 87.6. Any rating below 100 indicates a pessimistic outlook for the economy.
According to the survey, Turkish consumers were increasingly concerned over the strength of their purchasing power, the general economic outlook and employment opportunities.
