Sivasspor jumped to the top of the table thanks to its two nil win over Denizlispor on Sunday, and Fenerbahces defeat by the same score of previous front runner Galatasaray the night before. The weekends results see Sivas go two points clear at the head of the ladder.
The big match of the round was the Fener-Galatasaray derby, which saw the Yellow Canaries outclass visiting Galatasaray and close the gap between the two to just one point. Fener were by far the better team and had most of the scoring opportunities, while Galatasaray had few forays up forward and failed to make the most of any of them.
In Saturdays other matches, Ankaraspor and last placed Kasimpasa played out a two all draw and neither Rizespor or Kayserispor could find the back of the net in their nil all draw.
On Sunday, the three games other than the Sivas-Denizlispor match saw Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesi draw nil all with Genclerbirligi, Konyaspor beat Manisaspor 4-2, and Trabzonspor overcome visiting Gaziantepspor 3-2.
The opening match of round 15 saw Besiktas record a narrow one nil win over home side Bursaspor, throwing a lifeline to fourth placed Besiktas in its hopes of staying in the title race.
The conclusion of round 15 sees Sivasspor on top of the ladder with 34 points, two ahead of Galatasaray and three up on Fenerbache. In fourth spot is Besiktas with 28 points, well clear of Kayserisapor, Ankaragucu and Konyaspor, all on 22.
Denizlispor is eighth with 21 points, with Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyespor next on 20 and both Oftas and Trabzonspor on 19. On 18 points is Bursaspor in 12th place, followed by Manisaspor on 16 and Gaziantepspor and Rizespor filling the 14th and 15th rungs on the ladder with 15 points.
Genclerbirligi is 16th with 14 points, followed by Ankaraspor on 12 and trailing the pack is Kasimpasa, with eight points from its 15 matches played.
