The education trade union Egitim-Is lodged a complaint claiming that the book, which was distributed free, was calling on children to mobilise for jihad or holy war.
Dikman Onat, the head of the Egitim-Is for Denizli, said that they had received complaints from parents about the content of the book. Onat raised the question of whether book was distributed with the consent of the Education Ministry and how it was financed.
The 186 page book, brought out by the Akit publishing house and a group calling itself the Namaz Volunteers Platform, is a form of brainwashing, some education experts have claimed.
The book contains information calling on children to save the world and the after world by justifying any action to protect the namaz or the conducting of prayers and calling for a lifestyle based around mosques.
