The terrorist organisation PKK was listed in the annual US State Departments Global Terrorism. The report said that PKK would set up a Kurdish state to incorporate south east Turkey, northern Iraq and parts of Iran and Syria. The report said that after the PKK had ended its self declared cease fire last June that incidents have occurred and that the organisation still has between 4000 to 5000 militants. Up to 3,500 of these were based in northern Iraq, according to the State Department report. The report also said that the PKK was receiving some support and shelter from Iran, Syria and Iraq and that the group was making use of Europe to gain financial support. Another outlawed organisation, the leftists revolutionary DHKP/C was also cited by the report as being a terrorist group. | ||||
