Three detained over flag burning
The pro-Kurdish Democratic People Party (DEHAP) also announced that it would send a delegation to investigate the protest in Mersin.
March 23— Turkish police have detained three people on Wednesday on suspicion of trying to set a Turkish flag on fire in Mersin during a Nevruz celebration demonstration on Sunday.

  The three were detained after police viewed video tapes taken at the scene of the incident. Those taken into custody are being questioned by the police’s anti-terror squad.
       The Mersin police are to apply to the prosecutor’s office over some of those taking part in Sunday’s protest unfurled a poster of the imprisoned terrorist leader Abdullah Ocalan and also flags of the terrorist group the PPK/Kongra-gel.
