Turkish education to be adapted to EU standards
Advice from experts from Germany, England and Finland has been sought to improve the Turkish education system.
January 25— The European Union has announced that it will provide some 200 million euro to support an overhaul of the Turkish education system.

  EU experts from German, England and Finland said that the objective is to get international standard diploma in vocational studies in Turkey. One of the areas that EU experts criticised in the Turkish education system was the classical curriculum. According to a report by the international experts, changes will also have to be made in the way that Turkish teachers are trained
       The EU is to build1,000 classrooms, lodgings for teachers and public education centres in eastern and south eastern provinces.
       The experts also said that instead of having 21 vocational and technical education faculties training teachers the numbers should be brought down to three or four high quality systems.
       However, the experts said that in comparison to previous studies that Turkey had made quite some progress in the last decade.
