There will be no change in the Presidents agenda during his visit to Turkey, according to White House spokesman Scott McClellan, despite the twin bombings in Ankara and Istanbul earlier Thursday. One of the attacks, which injured two police officers and a bystander, took place outside the Ankara Hilton Hotel, where Bush is scheduled to stay on Saturday night before travelling to Istanbul to attend the NATO Summit, which begins on June 28. In terms of the schedule, nothing has changed, McClellan told a press briefing in Washington Thursday. The bombings in Turkey appeared to be an efforts by terrorists to disrupt the summit, McClellan said. At this point weve just seen the reports, said McClellan. We dont have more details than what youre hearing coming out of Turkey right now. It does appear that the terrorist attacks are intended to disrupt preparations for the upcoming NATO summit. | ||||
